Hippo takes a lot of pride in the way we support our customers and our Customer Care team is the cornerstone on which these efforts are built. In your role as a Customer Care Associate, you will be primarily responsible for taking care of our customers. This includes returning emails, answering phone calls and engaging in live chats with customers to answer their questions, resolve their issues, help them with purchases and direct their questions to the appropriate team where necessary.

This role will also include internal administrative support responsibilities for a variety of teams, giving you broad exposure to the company and opportunities to explore work in other areas, including Audio / Video Production and Marketing. You will need to be outgoing, well-spoken, organized and a fast learner to succeed in this role.


  • Friendly and comfortable talking to all kinds of people in different environments (phone, email, live chat etc.), fast on your feet and endlessly patient

  • Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills

  • Comfortable with basic technology - we don’t need a computer programmer, but if you can’t download an app or change basic settings this won’t be a good fit

  • Ability to dive into new, unfamiliar environments and learn quickly

  • A massive sense of humor, optimism, and an ability to roll with lots of changes

  • Residence in the Los Angeles area or able to travel to Los Angeles frequently
