At Hippo Education, we create fun and effective online medical education products that keep clinicians up-to-date and at their best. Our mission is to serve clinicians by supporting their professional growth intellectually, emotionally, and socially.
We are the team behind the AAPA PANCE/PANRE Review, Primary Care RAP, Urgent Care RAP, Peds RAP, Essentials of Emergency Medicine, and more (www.hippoed.com). We’re a fun-loving and quick-to-laugh group that works very hard. Some of us work at the main office/studio in Los Angeles, some in Santa Barbara, and others work more remotely. We think this is a great place to work and we’re genuinely proud of the positive impact we have on clinicians and their patients around the world.
We are fanatical about high quality education and our process requires a lot of research, quality control, editing, and fine tuning to make the best education possible. We make video-based review courses that riff on talk show formats and monthly audio podcasts modeled after contemporary greats like Radiolab and This American Life.
We are looking for an Associate Medical Editor with a broad range of important duties that will help ensure the integrity of our education - making sure it’s accurate, focused, and air tight. You will be the glue that holds the various parts of our education creating process together.
As Associate Medical Editor you will:
Summarize medical topics by researching core texts and online resources and creating outlines and Powerpoint/Keynote presentations
Monitor clinical questions from users across multiple specialties, answering those you can and triaging the others to one of our experts
Peer review educational content, listening and watching to ensure quality and accuracy
Categorize and tag educational content for organizational purposes
Coordinate a team of question-writers for our Q-bank products
Help complete required CME paperwork as needed
Summarize audio and video education into written outlines
Learn and use tools such as Google Docs, custom admin control panels, Powerpoint and Keynote, and a variety of other computer applications
Work directly with the educators (PAs, NPs, physicians, nurses, and more) and company leadership on a day to day basis
An ideal candidate would be an NP or PA with a proven passion for medical education and 5+ years of clinical experience in a broad specialty (i.e. family medicine, primary care, EM)
An ability to stay organized across detailed and long form projects
Excellent people skills as you work with a wide range of educators and creators
Excellent research skills and comfort with looking up medical topics to find the most reliable and up to date information using tools like UpToDate and various specialty guidelines, etc.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
A fanatical attention to detail
Comfort with and enjoyment of technology and the internet is a must
Strong sense of humor and ability to roll with the punches in a fast-paced growing team
Will consider Part Time or Full time with mixture of remote and on-site responsibilities
